Care for Children & Teenagers

It is one of the most worrying situations when your child is ill. Prompt careful assessment by an experienced GP can alleviate that worry.

Child care is a fundamental part of our practice here at The Harley Street General Practice so should you have any health concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to call and book an appointment with one of our GPs.

In the first instance, for registered patients, they are more than happy to speak on the telephone initially.

Health Checks & Vaccinations

The recommended developmental checks are offered from 6 weeks of age onwards, with rapid access to highly experienced and caring Paediatricians for specialist referrals. We are happy to discuss immunisations with you to help you make the right choice for your child and administer them accordingly.

We also take into account additional vaccines required for some overseas schedules and those outside NHS recommendations.

New Baby Checks at 6 Weeks

We conduct 6-week baby checks, which include a full physical and developmental check-up, discussion of a timetable for immunisation (which starts at 8 weeks of age) and any other concerns you may have as a new parent.

Childhood Immunisations

All childhood immunisations (including travel vaccinations) are offered from 8 weeks to 18 years of age according to national guidelines. If you are following a schedule from another country, we can also help.

Teenage and Adolescent Care

Our GPs are experienced in helping teenagers and adolescents deal with the unique challenges that can affect their health and wellbeing. Common mental health issues seen are eating disorders, anxiety, depression and self-harming.

Also, for both girls and boys, hormonal changes can be associated with a variety of medical conditions which we can diagnose and treat.
