Dr Samina Showghi established The Harley Street General Practice in 2002 with the ambition of providing traditional general practice in a private setting. The practice has since gone from strength to strength, caring for many individuals, families and corporate clients who now rely on us for their healthcare needs.

Our aim is to provide personalised high-quality private General Practice care to individuals, families and companies. In essence, time is dedicated to the patient in a tranquil and calm atmosphere.

Care of Acute Illness

Doctors derived their earliest and most enduring ideals and icons of medicine from the ancient Greeks. Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, is famous as the central historical figure in Greek medicine and the famous Hippocratic Oath became his enduring legacy.

Care Quality Commission

The practice is formally registered with the Care Quality Commission. This entails having all aspects of our practice scrutinised and means all processes within the practice have been assessed as ‘safe’ and that modern healthcare standards have been met.

Making a Complaint

The Harley Street General Practice takes any complaints, and the rights of our patients to complain, very seriously. We promise always to:

Listen to your complaint or concern in a positive way
Respond by establishing a clear, appropriate plan of action, and provide you with relevant support and advice
Improve our services however we can.

We operate a procedure to deal with complaints (a document explaining this fully is linked below). This procedure does not deal with matters of legal liability or compensation.

Please be assured that any complaint you make, written or verbal, will be treated in strict confidence and have no effect upon the level of treatment and care that you receive at the practice.
